At Shadow Oaks, we don't rush what the land gives us. Artisan breads, small-batch preserves, and wines from our own vines — all crafted with the patience that real flavor demands.
Recipes passed down and refined through decades of devoted craft.
Every batch baked and bottled by hand with meticulous attention.
Rooted in the Blue Ridge foothills — locally grown, locally loved.
Shadow Oaks Vineyard began with a simple conviction: that the best things cannot be rushed. Nestled along U.S. Route 64 in Morganton, our estate sits where the Blue Ridge foothills begin their gentle rise — a place where the soil runs rich and the mornings linger.
What started as a family passion for growing grapes and baking bread has grown into something the community claims as its own. Our ovens fire every morning before dawn. Our vines are pruned by hand each winter. We believe that consistency is the highest form of respect — for the ingredients, for the craft, and for the people who sit at our table.
Whether you're picking up a still-warm sourdough loaf on your way home or settling in for an evening of wine and charcuterie, you'll find the same thing here: nothing artificial, nothing hurried, nothing that wouldn't grace our own family's table.
Every element of our estate is connected — from vine to loaf, from soil to table.
Our vines are trained on the south-facing slopes, drawing minerality from the Appalachian soil. Each varietal is selected for the microclimate — resulting in wines with depth, character, and a distinctly local voice.
Our sourdough starter has been feeding generations. We mix by hand, proof slowly, and bake in stone-deck ovens. The result is crust that sings and crumb that holds warmth long after you've left the shop.
Small-batch preserves, aged cheeses from regional dairies, cured meats, and olive oils — each item on our shelves has earned its place. We curate the way we shop for our own homes.
Every product is a reflection of this place — the soil, the season, the hands that tend it.
Full-bodied with notes of dark cherry and cedar. Aged in oak for twelve months.
Our signature loaf — 48-hour fermentation, stone-ground flour, crackling crust.
Hand-poured in small batches. Peach, fig, blackberry — whatever the season offers.
Curated from Appalachian dairies. Cheddar, gouda, and seasonal specials.
